I Like My Vodka - An Alcoholic's Lament

While walking around Newport a few weeks ago, the phrase "I drink my vodka, because I want ta" came into my head. I hadn't been drinking and don't even like to drink that much, but I liked the phrase so I remembered the phrase. Tonight, I let the words take me on a short journey. I have a tune for the words, but I can't convey it to you. Note that this ditty is a far cry from my prior post called "In The Sanctuary".

I drink my vodka
Cause I want ta
I don't have ta
But I like ta.

I drink it straight up
With some lime
Sometimes a lemon
Is just fine.

I like the feeling
That it gives me
It sends me reeling
It sets me so free.

I drink my vodka
Cause I want ta
I don't have ta
But I like ta

But when I don’t stop
It makes me crazy
I get so foolish
All gets hazy

My head starts throbbin
My eyes start sobbin
I swear to heaven
I’ll never do it again

But the next morning
Without any warning
I grab the bottle
And drink full throttle

while singing

I drink my vodka
Cause I want ta
I don't have ta
But I like ta.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound like the Ron I know. Glad to see that someone else has left a comment!
